CITY HR ACADEMY
About the City HR Academy
The City HR Academy was launched in September 2009 to provide local, accessible and flexible CIPD qualifications training to HR practitioners who work in the City and Canary Wharf. In essence this is a flexible programme based near Bank and Canary Wharf stations which provides monthly tutored workshops and an excellent range of distance support materials.
The programme is delivered by MOL, the CIPD’s preferred national supplier for the CIPD qualification training, and successful completion of the full programme and the CIPD’s own examinations leads to Graduate Membership of the CIPD. Delegates will also receive the CIPD’s post graduate qualification in Personnel and Development. Individuals can later upgrade to Chartered Membership of the CIPD (MCIPD) or become a Fellow of the CIPD (FCIPD) subject to their meeting the upgrade criteria.
This unique programme takes approximately two-and-a-half years to complete and is delivered in three modules - These are:

Individuals undertake a combination of locally tutored workshops, which take place approximately once a month between 3.00 pm and 9.00 pm supplemented by a blended flexible learning programme. Furthermore, masterclasses are delivered by leading City HR experts to help students apply HR theory within their own organisation.
Outside of these workshops, students are supported on a distance basis by their tutor and a set of comprehensive learning materials including CD Roms, workbook and on-line learning resources.
