Description
Option 1
Snow White and the 12 months of the year Christmas Party

A fun-filled pantomime on the story of Snow White, whose father’s principality has gone bankrupt due to tax haven changes, and whose wicked stepmother has sent her into the City to be a Human Resource Manager for a mid-size bank. Narrated by David Whincup, and with Oscar worthy performances from Hammonds’ lawyers and mystery guests, we witness the trials and tribulations of Snow White as she battles through 2009 and the myriad of HR challenges that are thrust upon her as we sit back in wonderment at whether she will get her just rewards – a happy ending.

The pantomime will take a look at the key issues that have affected the City during the course of 2009 and how HR has responded to them. Being serious for a moment, we can advise that handouts on many of the issues will be available at the end of the performance, following which members can unwind to festive music and enjoy the lead-up to Christmas. Look out for some surprise appearances from the City HR network!

This event will commence at 5 pm, with mince pies and mulled wine, and will finish at 6.30 pm. Our festive party will follow on at Hammonds with carriages (or pumpkins) by 8.30 pm.

Members who are unable to make the Member Forum are welcome to join the cast for the after show party!

Option 2
Green shoots for 2010 – what does this mean for talent management?

An exploration of the way forward for Internships and Graduate Recruitment coupled with an in-depth look at the overall recruitment market.

Angela Mortimer, CEO, Angela Mortimer Limited will chair a discussion on the treatment of interns in many organisations and will ask the audience to debate “Intern or Internee?” A checklist will be provided on the small things that make a positive difference in selling the employer brand and securing top talent from internships.

John Benson, CEO, eFINANCIALCAREERS.com, will talk about the City market and highlight areas set for growth in 2010. He will also explore what employees want from the employer propositions, based on a recent survey by eFINANCIALCAREERS, and will help HR practitioners to understand how to attract the best talent and the economy takes an upturn.
