This member forum was a mock employment tribunal, with a drama-based case study chaired by an Employment Judge with the Respondent and Claimant superbly represented by Counsel from Devereaux Chambers.

Members were given the opportunity to see how tribunals work from both the Claimant’s and Respondent’s point of view and were able to gain a strong understanding of the Employment Tribunal process. The case study was based on a realistic City organisation scenario, and highlighted the changes arising from the ACAS Code of Practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures effective 6th April 2009. Our hosts were Addleshaw Goddard, who were actively involved in the proceedings and the subsequent Questions and Answers session. The forum was followed by the usual networking reception.
