With social networking sites never being too far from any desk top and becoming as popular and widely available as they are, what impact can this have in the work place? City HR’s November Member Forum was designed to explore the issues arising from both the employer and employee perspectives.

Firstly Julia Gorham (lawyer, Allen & Overy) presented a legal update, and specifically developed the perspective of the employee in the context of social networking sites. This was followed by specialists in Human Resource Management, Harrison Rose Ltd. Discussing the pros and cons of social networking in the recruitment process. The audience were given an opportunity to ask questions to both Julia and Harrison Rose representatives both formally and in discussions over drinks and canapés at the conclusion of the evening programme.
