Employee retention is a high priority for many organisations as we enter 2010. For some, the objective is to keep top talent on board as the recruitment market is expected to shift up a gear, for others it is about managing employee morale through what may still be a difficult year for many financial institutions and City focused organisations. Whatever the objective, leadership coaching has become a critical element in talent management by communicating organisational strategy and goals, and helping employees to understand how they can contribute to both organisational and their own personal development for future success.

This programme explores the benefits of leadership coaching and the role played by HR and L&D in facilitating this process. Christine Champion of Cedar Talent Management, a leading talent management firm, will highlight the coaching tools and techniques that HR can deploy with senior management and discuss best practice around coaching programme design and implementation.

Amanda Visagie of Citi, will showcase the Citi model including

* What “internal coaching” means within Citi, and the key objectives

* The Citi programme design looking at content, skills and risks

* How this integrates into the Leadership Model and aligns with organisational strategy

* Gaining stakeholder buy-in

* The role of HR and L&D in designing, promoting and implementation of the programme.
