Description
Objective

Many UK based HR professionals are increasingly required to operate on a European or Global basis. This programme has been designed to help delegates to understand legal and cultural issues in different locations and to manage their counterparts and business managers on a remote basis.

Delivered by Employment Law experts from Eversheds, in conjunction with HR Business Partnering specialists from Orion Partners, the programme will address the following:-

Making a success of International HR Management

*What does is mean to be an HR Business Partner

*The questions to ask your lawyers, HR counterparts and business managers

*What makes Global Business Partnering a success?

*How do you engage managers in different countries?

*Developing a successful HR Model

Plenary session:

The legal framework

*Understanding why there are still significant differences between the employment laws of European jurisdictions

*Getting ahead of the game: where to find information and how to apply it

*The project management skills required to co-ordinate with your international counterparts.

*Key Terms & Conditions - a comparative view (UK, France, Germany and Italy)

Case study break out session:

*Hiring & Firing - case study break out sessions.

Delegates can chose between three break-out sessions (France, Germany or Italy) in the afternoon, each led by an Eversheds’ employment law expert in their respective jurisdiction.

Plenary session:

*Summary of the key differences in hiring and firing in the UK, France, Germany and Italy

This will be a one day programme, with plenary and break out sessions, set in the context of a case study. At the end of the programme, individuals will understand the practical HR and employment law issues in some of the key European jurisdictions, how to acquire the right legal information across several jurisdictions and how to avoid the main pitfalls. Above all, the individual will have greater confidence in engaging with senior executives overseas and an awareness of cross-cultural issues.
